Yahya Sinwar (Yahya Ibrahim Hassan Sinwar) is a Palestinian politician and resistance leader who has been the head of Hamas within the Gaza Strip since 2017.

Sinwar was imprisoned by Israel from 1989 to 2011 accused of executing four Israeli informants, he was released on a prisoner exchange deal that happened between Israel and Hamas in 2021
